We Buy Maps

We are always interested in acquiring antique maps, historical prints, broadsides and other Americana.

If you are interested in selling your maps, please contact us at mainelyart@mainely art.com or (207) 899-0031.  Please be ready to send one or more photographs (cell phone images are fine) and some basic information such as:

  1. Is there a title to the item?
  2. What are the dimensions as measured at the printed border?
  3. What are the names of the author/mapmaker/publisher/printer?
  4. What is the condition of the piece?
  5. Any information about where it was acquired or provenance?

We cannot purchase everything that is offered to us. Our interest is determined by certain factors such as rarity, condition, historical importance and appearance.

We will treat your inquiry with the utmost respect, provide as much information as possible about your item, and should it come to a negotiation, make the most generous offer that we can.

Should your item(s) not work for us, we will advise you on other options or possibilities that are available.

We look forward to hearing from you!
