Return to Mainely Art Gallery |
|
Visit Mainely Art Gallery in Portland,
Maine at 534 Congress Street to see our exhibit of these fine works by Nance
Driscoll.
Nance is an eclectic artist, who
alternates between watercolor paintings and pastels. She often prefers to
work with a variety of media, depending on her mood and/or the subject
matter. The bold colors and immediacy of pastels seem to best capture the
changing moods of New England landscapes, whereas the watercolors, with
serendipitous “runs” work well for boats and bicycles as well as for
abstracts. Watercolors are also more portable for her travel and en plein
air paintings.
