William C. Harrison (1944-2016), or “bil” as he sometimes signs his name, arrived in Portland Maine in the 1970’s, where he produced many of his incredibly detailed pen & ink drawings of cityscapes, landmarks, views and monuments of Portland, as well as, numerous cityscapes from other major cities.
His work has appeared nationally in such publications as Better Homes and Gardens, The New Yorker, Field and Stream, and Wooden Boat.
Harrison’s black and white cityscapes are available as signed, limited edition prints. They can be purchased online here. His originals are rare and in demand, as are his hand-colored prints. Some of his black and white limited edition prints have sold out, and are now sought by collectors.
Works by Harrison and other local artist are available at our gallery in Portland, Maine.
